The Population Services International (PSI) partner team has extensive expertise in HIV prevention, care, support, treatment and capacity building, covering all eight of the AIDSTAR priority technical areas. Our 14 partner organizations have more than 150 years combined experience working in HIV and are staffed with more than 15,000 technical and managerial experts across the globe. All of our partners have worked with the U.S. Government (USG), and most have been awarded funding under the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (Emergency Plan). The depth and breadth of the PSI Team’s technical expertise and global presence ensure that our consortium can rapidly mobilize and provide high quality technical assistance under AIDSTAR.

PSI Team members and our areas of expertise include:

PSI – Prime contractor responsible for ensuring efficient management of consortium activities with extensive management and administrative capacity developed under large, centrally-funded, USAID-funded programs including the $215 million AIDSMark project. PSI draws on 18 years experience, implementing effective HIV programs in more than 65 countries worldwide with a focus on HIV prevention, private sector approaches, and evidence-based communications.

Africare – With vast experience implementing community-based programs in Africa, Africare bolsters care and support programs, provides care for OVC, and supports prevention work with a community-based strategy.

Booz Allen Hamilton – Brings insight and innovation to challenges of international health. With over 20,000 professionals in 96 offices worldwide, Booz Allen applies evidenced-based solutions to health challenges in program management, supply chain, institutional capacity building, technology strategy, and stakeholder adoption.

Christian Aid – A leading faith-based international development organization working through local partners in nearly 50 countries. Christian Aid builds the capacity of faith-based, community-based and nongovernmental organizations to provide care and support for HIV-positive individuals and their families, establish and strengthen the capacity of groups of people with HIV, as well as care for OVC.

Cicatelli Associates – Assists with care and support and prevention initiatives, drawing on its expertise in capacity building for local NGOs, healthcare providers, and government agencies.

The International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health (MSPH) – Supports high-quality, HIV-related activities in service delivery, training, and research. MSPH is one of the most successful care and support partners under the Emergency Plan and leads the PSI team’s efforts in the development and implementation of comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment and care programs.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Mount Sinai College of Medicine, and New York University – Three premier medical schools support MSPH with medical technical assistance for the implementation of comprehensive treatment and care programs

IntraHealth – Strengthens health services by building local capacity to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS services at the primary care level; offering standardized HIV/AIDS clinical training programs; integrating HIV/AIDS counseling and testing within family planning and other health services; developing national HIV/AIDS policies and service guidelines; supporting community-based services for PLWHA; and addressing gender holistically within HIV/AIDS programs

The Mitchell Group – Provides specialized technical assistance in monitoring, evaluation, and capacity building through timely, low-cost, sustainable solutions that respond to client needs.

Overseas Strategic Consulting – Designs and implements community-based education campaigns that increase stakeholder understanding and acceptance of HIV/AIDS prevention messages and practices.

The Population Council – World leader in practical research, capacity building, and technical assistance, the Council has decades of experience including over 100 HIV and AIDS projects in 23 countries in partnership with more than 230 organizations. The Council leads the PSI team’s efforts in stigma and discrimination; gender; technical leadership and knowledge management.

The QED Group – Delivers knowledge management, communications, and M&E services that help clients bridge the gap between knowledge and practice.
