The Abt HPI Team includes: Abt Associates, Academy for Educational Development, Save the Children Federation, Bitran y Asociados, Forum One Communications, O’Hanlon Health Consulting, the Population Reference Bureau, and the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. We are dedicated to supporting USAID Missions and Bureaus as they improve the enabling environment for health, especially family planning/reproductive health, maternal health, HIV/AIDS, and other infectious diseases. In order to meet this objective we will apply a comprehensive, multisectoral and integrated approach to ensure that interventions:
- Utilize international best practices
- Cost-efficient and equitable
- Demand-driven, country specific and locally relevant
- Integrate existing health resources and are not vertical in nature
- Achieve significant scale
- Build capacity for increased sustainability
- Maximize impact by complementing with existing efforts, including USAID and other donors
We offer an exceptional team that demonstrates our breadth of technical expertise and our commitment to high quality work. We respond quickly to requests for technical assistance in areas of policy reform, advocacy, health care financing and resource planning, communication, community mobilization, capacity building, and applied research. Our partnership offers strong, experienced management and an extensive network of international experts that can work collaboratively toward completing individual tasks in a timely, cost-effective, and high quality manner. Abt partners include:
- Abt Associates, Inc. has been at the forefront of domestic and international health policy and systems strengthening for 40 years, in partnership with many private and public organizations. Additionally, Abt Associates’ expertise encompasses health financing, strategic planning, market research, new product development and evaluation.
- Academy for Educational Development provides multidisciplinary depth in health communications, capacity building, participatory community development, social advocacy, and HIV/AIDS and public health policy development.
- Save the Children Federation is recognized for its capacity to mobilize communities, reach disadvantaged populations, and build bridges for effective communication between communities, NGOs and governments.
- Bitran y Asociados specializes in health financing, economics and reform, and provides assistance worldwide in health policy formulation, implementation and evaluation.
- Forum One Communications, a small business partner, has extensive experience in internet-based communication technologies and knowledge management in the health field.
- O’Hanlon Health Consulting, Inc, a small women-owned firm, contributes its expertise in facilitating the development and implementation of reproductive and other health policy.
- Population Reference Bureau supports policy reform by providing up-to-date information on key population and health issues to influential audiences.
- Tulane University, School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine brings expertise in monitoring and evaluation and with research on health policy and systems strengthening.
The Abt team also includes a pool of specialized small business firms and faith-based organizations. These small business firms are: Cambridge Consulting Corporation, Cultural Practice, Global Business Solutions, MD Informatics, SAG Corporation, Health Development Africa, Social Impact, and Voxiva. Additionally, Catholic Mission Medical Board, Hope Worldwide, and Medical Missions for Children join the team as faith-based organizations.
