The Population Council's TASC3 Global Health Team combines the experience and expertise of the Council, Booz Allen Hamilton, the Heilbrunn Department of Population and Family Health, Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, Forum One Communications, and GTZ. Collectively we bring decades of successful experience in the improvement of global health in such areas as population, health, nutrition, and infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS. Through technical expertise and cost-effective implementation, we are dedicated to assisting USAID Missions and Bureaus in improving global health.

The Global Health Team's multidisciplinary and integrated approach is characterized by the following:

The Population Council Team is committed to the development of high-quality interventions that benefit from our proven ability to respond quickly and efficiently to the needs of our clients. The Team has a long-standing reputation for high-quality work in service delivery, health policy reform, community mobilization, individual behavior change, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, and commodities system management in the following substantive areas: family planning and reproductive health programs, maternal health and nutrition, child health and nutrition, HIV prevention and mitigation of the impact of AIDS, and interventions to reduce the spread of other infectious diseases of public health importance.

  • The Population Council has extensive and comprehensive experience in biomedical, public health, and social science research in family planning/reproductive health, maternal and neonatal health, and HIV/AIDS. Much of the research is applied and leads to improvements in service delivery strategies, policies, and health systems.

  • Booz Allen Hamilton has extensive experience and multidisciplinary capabilities in complex program management, healthcare program design and implementation, healthcare information technology, strategic planning and simulations, supply chain system design and management, and the implementation of international donor agency funded economic development programs.

  • The Heilbrunn Department of Population and Family Health, Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University has worked extensively in reproductive, adolescent, maternal, and child health, both in settled communities and in communities displaced because of political or environmental emergencies.

  • Forum One Communications, a small-business partner, has significant experience in Internet-based communication technologies, community and network building, and knowledge management in the health field.

  • GTZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) has worked in sustainable development, particularly in health system strengthening, health financing, health promotion, sexual and reproductive health, family planning, maternal health, and HIV/AIDS.

In addition, the Population Council Team includes a number of regional partners, each providing in-depth programmatic abilities in a range of areas. These partners are:

  • Aga Khan University, Pakistan
  • BEMFAM, an IPPF affiliate in Brazil
  • Centre de Formation et de Recherche en Santé de la Reproduction (CEFOREP), Senegal
