University Research Co., LLC (URC) brings to TASC3 Global Health over 25 years of experience and capabilities for improving the quality of critical health care services in developing countries, using methodologies that emphasize institutionalization of quality approaches, continuous quality improvement, and sustainability. With technical staff in 20 countries, we offer a balance of clinical and management skills and extensive experience integrating maternal, child, reproductive health and infectious disease services at all health system levels.
In collaboration with USAID, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other donors, and host country institutions, URC works to develop and scale up innovative and proven approaches to improving health care and health outcomes for the underserved, with particular emphasis on maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and health systems strengthening.
URC demonstrated high quality and responsive performance on TASC and TASC2, successfully implementing task orders totaling $45 million in eight countries. The technical excellence that URC brings to the TASC3 Global Health program will achieve measurable results, contributing both to USAID's strategic objectives and to host country health priorities.
On TASC3, URC works with a small group of subcontractors that provide complementary technical resources:
- The Harvard School of Public Health brings qualifications in HIV/AIDS and infectious disease treatment, decentralization, health policy, and health care financing.
- Management Systems International (MSI) contributes excellence in governance and performance monitoring.
- Technical Cooperation Network (TCNetwork), a 501(c)(3) organization, provides access to qualified consultants based in the developing world.
- EnCompass LLC, a woman-owned small business, brings expertise in evaluation, leadership training, and organizational development.
- Health Strategies International, another woman-owned small business, offers capability in health policy assessment and human resource development.
- The American Association of Blood Banks will support activities related to blood safety.
- Centre Africain D'Etudes Supérieures En Gestion (CESAG) in Senegal offers management and leadership training and organizational development consulting experience in West Africa.
- Instituto de Nutrición de Centro América y Panamá (INCAP) in Guatemala brings extensive capabilities in nutritional assessment, food security, and health and nutrition research in Central America.
In addition to these subcontractors, URC's team also includes three collaborating organizations that bring specialized expertise and are potential subcontractors, should the need arise for their particular capabilities: The Worldwide Orphan Fund, with worldwide expertise in programs serving orphans and vulnerable children; the African Services Committee, with experience in antiretroviral therapy and home-based care; and Altos Federal Group, a small business with expertise in ancillary healthcare services staffing and procurement.
